AWACS Electronics Technician

Individual must be able to attain and maintain a valid U.S. Government security clearance in order to be retained in this position.
Position Summary
Troubleshoot and repair a number of complex electronics systems. Must be able to perform test and measurements of electronic/electro-mechanical/computer nature.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform tests and measurements of electronic/electro-mechanical/computer
  • Perform test in accordance with military and commercial standards
  • Troubleshoot and takes necessary actions related to product malfunctions
  • Modify wire and fabricate devices related to work
  • Resolve software application problems and provides customer training as needed
  • Determine if equipment is under warranty and takes appropriate actions to obtain parts for required repairs
  • Coordinate with various vendors to acquire necessary parts; tracks shipment of parts on order and parts returned under manufacturer warranties
  • Install or reload standard Air Force PC common operating environment software
  • Gather and compile statistics for monthly metrics report to ensure all performance objectives are met
  • Keep Team Lead informed of work status network issues and customer service problems
  • Support all LCI Air Force and Program Management directives including safety quality and security
  • Augment/support other project teams as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Associate’s degree in computer related field or Vocational/Technical School Certificate in computer related field preferred
  • 4 years of electrical avionics experience
Skills and Certifications
  • Excellent customer service skills required
  • Proficient in installing and using MS Office Suite
  • PC hardware and peripheral troubleshooting and repair
  • Able to lift at least 50 lbs
