Position Summary
Manages multiple projects ensuring conformance to task specifications and contract provisions. Directs oversees and controls a team of multi-disciplined personnel to accomplish the overall management of the task order. Assesses progress and assigned projects or programs including cost estimates schedules and performance supportability baseline requirements by applying known methods and procedures. Advises program manager of significant actions or problems and seeks resolution. Analyzes inter-related issues of effectiveness efficiency and productivity; develops recommendations to solve problems; and applies program management principles. Provides assistance and advice in the planning organizing and coordinating activities of various functional specialists. Continually studies reviews and evaluates team progress. Assists teams in establishing management controls such as milestones expenditure rates management indicators and management reviews to reflect program status and provide early detection of emerging problems. Gathers and analyzes a variety of program information makes sound judgments concerning program progress and effectively communicates recommendations to higher organizational management
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Initiates supports and participates in negotiations with prospective customer
  • Analyzes current situation and develops business plans sales strategy and targeted customer audience to achieve acceptance of new business opportunity
  • Determines customer requirements and translates these requirements into operational plans
  • Determines monitors and reviews costs operational budgets and schedules and staffing requirements for project team
  • Analyzes effects of project upon various operating and support areas such as information processing/data centers assembly and manufacturing to determine the most practical and cost effective method to obtain the required resources
  • Provides guidance to project team and management in directing development of new applications and formulating contingency plans in areas such as schedule revisions manpower adjustments fund allocations and work requirements
  • Provides guidance in strategic systems planning to project team and/or customer`s team
  • May be responsible for preparing incoming management for transition from implementation to business operating stage
  • Provide weekly status on activities and inputs to monthly and quarterly reports as required

Education and Experience
  • BS degree in program/logistics management engineering or related degree - DAU Certification Lifecycle Logistics or Program Management desirable
  • Minimum of twelve years experience in logistics management is required with four years experience in program management oversight workload or management
  • Experience performing program management in support of DoD programs is required
Skills and Certifications
  • Possess knowledge and experience with documents and concepts to include the Defense Acquisition Management Framework
  • Expectation Management Plans (EMA) Life Cycle Management Plans (LCMPs) Program Management Directives (PMDs) Risk Management types of funding Logistic Support Elements (LSE)(Acquisition & Sustainment Life Cycle Management)
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Access Excel Word PowerPoint and Project
