LCI Wins 3rd Metro50 Award
OKLAHOMA CITY - Leader Communications, Inc. (LCI) won its
3rd annual Metro50 Award this year for being one of the
top businesses in the Oklahoma City area, ranking 43rd among
the top 50 fastest-growing businesses in the Oklahoma City area.
This year, Oklahoma City celebrated the 11th annual Metro50
Awards, honoring Oklahoma City's fastest growing,
privately-owned companies who have at least $1M in revenues
for 2005. Awards are based on a positive growth in revenues;
growth in the number of employees; creativity/entrepreneurship;
business development through the expansion of facilities,
customer base, or markets, according to the Greater Oklahoma
City Chamber website.
"The Metro50 provides recognition that some companies would not
have received without being one of the 50 fastest growing
companies in OKC," said Mike Lyles, CEO/President of LCI.
LCI has been a Metro50 award winner for the past three
years: 2004 - 12th fastest growing company, 2005 - 18th fastest
growing company, 2006 - 43rd fastest growing company. LCI
attended the Metro 50 Awards banquet with 49 of the fastest
growing businesses in the Oklahoma City area. Mick Cornett,
City of Oklahoma City Mayor, introduced and led the awards
banquet in addition to recognizing repeat winners and announcing
all Metro 50 Award rankings. LCI employs approximately 270
employees in Oklahoma alone, most of them in the Oklahoma City area.
"These types of awards recognize small and large businesses
in many different business areas and from many different
backgrounds," Lyles said. "It shows their growth and gives
everyone something to be proud of and strive to be one of the
50 selected."
LCI was founded on innovation and cost-efficiency-they developed
and led the USAF's High Frequency (HF) Systems Capable of Planned
Expansion (SCOPE) Command "Lights Out" capability, which provides
remotely controlled operation of a worldwide network (14 stations)
from a Centralized Network Control Station. LCI started here in
the Oklahoma City area at Tinker AFB, providing Oklahoma with jobs
and a company focused on quality, performance, and taking care of
their employees. LCI's work on this first contract saved
approximately 225 manpower billets and $10.4M annually. The Air
Force Deputy Chief of Staff for Plans and Programs recognized LCI's
accomplishments by naming the "Lights Out" Modification Team as one
of seven winners to receive the 2001 Air Force Productivity
Excellence Award. LCI continues to dedicate its efforts to
providing support that is cost efficient, focused on quality and
outstanding performance, and by creating a supportive environment
for our people so they can better serve our customers.
"We are very competitive at LCI, and would like to return to the Top
10 in the next couple of years," Lyles said.
