Position Summary
Assist in the management and leadership of the Accounting areas as a Task Supervisor. Provide day-to-day supervision of accounting employees including but not limited to hiring work assignments leave and payroll records. Responsible for directing and coordinating the work of a number of accounting associates in all aspects of accounting (accounts payable accounts receivable general ledger financial statement preparation and payroll). Review all existing accounting and operational controls policies and procedures and implement additional controls as needed. Individual must be able to attain and maintain a valid U.S. Government security clearance in order to be retained in the position. The Task Supervisors will act as the liaison to the government managers to ensure that the work is done in a timely and efficient manner while ensuring that site objectives and contractual obligations are met while conducting business in accordance with sound business practice and ethics. Responsible for timely and effective communications with site client contacts as well as LCI management. Individual must be able to attain and maintain a valid U.S. Government security clearance in order to be retained in the position.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise employees in the accounting areas including Payroll AR, AP, GL-Reporting, and Analysis
  • Task Supervisors must become proficient in the Accounting Systems and be knowledgeable enough to answer questions from employees managers Agency Headquarters and others in telecons meetings etc
  • Participate in the development and implementation of accounting systems
  • Examine and review existing systems and procedures for the purpose of determining whether or where improvements can or should be initiated
  • Analyze problem areas and recommend changes and techniques to improve the overall integrated accounting system
  • Provide guidance and assistance necessary to ensure the consistent and uniform application of accounting programs
  • Review and analyze accountable reports for the purpose of determining the reasonableness and the accuracy of the reports
  • Task Supervisors provide orientation assistance and training to Payroll Technicians Accounting Clerks & Accountants
  • Task Supervisors are responsible for training new employees in timekeeping system and monitoring and approving the time of employees in online timekeeping system
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of work assignments
  • Task Supervisors monitor absences leave requests and overtime for employees
  • Task Supervisors address work issues and provide assistance to resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Task Supervisors promote a Team environment
Education and Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Business field required
  • Minimum of 5 years Supervisory/Management experience preferably in Accounting field is required
Skills and Certifications
  • 1-3 years Supervisory/Management experience
  • Solid understanding of Financial Systems and Applications
  • Advanced PC skills – Microsoft Office Products
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of management
  • Ability to manage heavy workload and meet strict deadlines
